🧬 Bioengineer 💻 Bioimaging Developer 🔗 Multi-Omics ✦ AI Builder 🚀 Space Biology 🔬 MatriXense ❤️ Helixon

I started in biochemistry — then realised the most important questions live at the boundary of biology, physics, and engineering. I've spent nearly a decade at that boundary: building 3D disease models, integrating multi-omics with biomechanics, and pushing research into space to see what gravity hides. I built AI tools to accelerate that science and founded MatriXense to put them in researchers' hands. Now I'm taking it further — with Helixon, bringing that intelligence directly to you.

The Science
What if genes aren't the whole story? I study the physical forces — pressure, stiffness, tension — that silently decide whether cancer spreads, wounds heal, or immunity holds. Biology is more mechanical than most scientists admit.

The Tools
What if the tools you needed didn't exist? I built them. Two AI-powered bioimaging apps — peer-reviewed, used in real labs — spun into MatriXense, a company I founded to put better science in every researcher's hands.

The Impact
What if this science could reach everyone? I built Helixon — an AI health platform that turns your biology into plain language. Because research that stays in the lab only goes so far.
Core Expertise
To beat disease, you have
to replicate it first.

I engineer 3D tissue models that faithfully replicate native human tissue — the architecture, the stiffness, the biological signals. Precise enough to reveal how cancer invades, how immune cells navigate hostile terrain, and what actually triggers healing. No patient samples required. No guesswork.

Multi-omics analysis
Core Expertise
Biology is multi-layered.
So is my analysis.

Tissue structure tells only part of the story. I integrate multi-omics data — genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics — with biomechanical measurements to build a complete picture of how cells behave, communicate, and malfunction. This functional multi-omics approach connects molecular signals to physical outcomes, unlocking insights that single-layer analysis simply can't reach.

🧬 Multi-Omics 📊 Functional Analysis 🔗 Systems Biology
Core Expertise
Space is the lab.
Earth is who benefits.

The real question isn't what happens to cells in space — it's how we can use that knowledge to improve life on Earth. I showed that simulated microgravity can dramatically boost stem cell differentiation potency, opening new possibilities for regenerative medicine and cell therapy. What zero gravity reveals, we bring back.

Software I built

The right tool
didn't exist. So I built it.

A microscope gives you images. A scientist needs data. When the tools to bridge that gap were missing, overpriced, or simply not good enough — I wrote the code myself, published the methods, and spun the whole thing into MatriXense. Today MatriXense delivers AI-powered bioimaging software to research labs — and expert consulting to design disease models that actually reflect biology.

Topology Analyser
Bioimaging 📄 Acta Biomaterialia · 2014
Topology Analyser
Quantify tissue architecture from microscopy images — automatically

Born from a lab course, refined through real research, and published in Acta Biomaterialia (2014). Topology Analyser converts raw microscopy images of biological tissue into precise, publication-ready measurements — pore sizes, fibre arrangement, density, structural patterns — in a fraction of the time manual methods take. Used in cancer, fibrosis, and wound healing research.

  • Measures tissue structure in 2D & 3D from microscopy images
  • Automated image processing — no manual steps
  • Simulates physical measurements from optical images
  • Batch analysis across multiple samples with exportable results

CellDetection
AI-powered 3D cell tracking — no staining, no manual work

Built for my master's thesis to solve a problem nobody had solved: tracking immune cells moving freely through a 3D environment without labels or staining. CellDetection detects, follows, and analyses hundreds of cells simultaneously — speed, direction, distance, all calculated automatically. Published in Scientific Reports. Now a commercial tool through MatriXense.

  • AI automatically detects cells — no labelling or staining needed
  • Tracks hundreds of cells simultaneously across time
  • Speed, direction & distance — all auto-calculated
  • CSV & annotated video replay — ready for analysis

Life Under Pressure

The Hidden Forces That Shape Every Living Thing

Your cells are under constant physical pressure — and how they respond to it determines whether you heal, age well, or get sick. This is mechanobiology: the frontier field quietly reshaping medicine. Written by a scientist who lives inside this research every day — translated into a story anyone can follow. No jargon. No PhD required. Just the science that finally explains how your body really works.

🚀 Founder · Helixon

Your biology.
Finally explained.

As a biochemist, I had access to my own blood tests, ECG, genetic data, wearables — and I still couldn't make sense of the full picture. Everything lived in a different app, a different report, a different format. None of it talked to each other. If I was struggling with this, everyone was. So I built Helixon — an AI that pulls it all together and finally tells you what's actually going on with your body. In plain language. No medical degree required.

AI health insights — plain-language explanations of your data, personalised to you
🩸
Blood biomarkers over time — track 50+ lab values and see trends, not snapshots
🧬
Biological age & genetics — know your true age at the cellular level, not the calendar
🔐
Fully private — end-to-end encrypted, no ads, no data selling. Ever.
